Congratulations on your decision to attend UNLV. The Student Orientation Advising and Registration Program (SOAR) is designed to ease your transition to college. Attending SOAR is an easy and convenient way to fulfill UNLV’s mandatory requirement that all new students receive academic advising before registering for classes.
If you have been accepted for the spring 2010 semester, you are invited to attend new student orientation in January. SOAR is for students accepted for the summer and fall semesters.
At SOAR you will:
- Meet with an academic advisor.
- Register for classes.
- Learn about the financial aid process and how to pay for your education.
- Meet other incoming students.
- Receive your RebelCard (student identification card) and set up your RebelCash account.
- Tour campus and the residence halls.
- Learn about campus resources and university expectations.
Your orientation session will be led by university staff and our student orientation leaders who will answer your questions and help guide you into your first semester.
